Schuyler DeMarinis is an artist/printmaker currently perusing his Masters of Fine Art in Print Media at the Pacific Northwest College of Art. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder where he fell in love with printmaking. Growing up he lived between rural Ohio and Massachusetts spending most of his time outdoors discovering the magical qualities ferns, thorns bushes, and rocky streams have on a young imaginative mind. Today he focuses on the importance of our environment while exploring the relationship between people and nature. Crafting natural dyes and pigments, foraging for materials, and papermaking is an essential part of his practice. He believes that it is important to understand what our world has to offer and then, in turn, treat it with respect.
