Any backyard guru knows that for your leafy loved ones to be happy they need time, care, and love. I like to apply this all aspects of my life, most importantly my artwork. Using found materials such as dirt and leaves I create collagraph prints that are then overlaid with various other printmaking processes. I incorporate natural patterns and organic shapes that I observe from gardening and examining the outside world. Furthermore, I uncover themes such as paining loss, healing, and memory as I find a means of connecting gardening, exploring the outdoors, and my artwork. The sewing of the prints is representational of the piecing together of my life experiences and acts as a means to keep my life composed. My artwork is an extension of the life I live.
